Recommendations based upon our studies

If you have looked into ear infection treatments online you have probably seen many miracle products claiming to cure your pet's ear infection using an all-in-one product. EarAnalysis will not promote miracle products that often do not work, we do what veterinarians all over the world do! We find the source of the infection and focus on curing it. All product recommendations we make can be found on reputable sites such as Amazon, Petsmart, Petco, Vetdepot, and many more.

NOTE: EarAnalysis's testing and recommendations are not a substitute for proper veterinary care. All findings and recommendations are for informational purposes.

Yeast Infections

Yeast infections are one of the most common infections found in pets. At EarAnalysis we recommend 2 different anti-fungal cleaners if we find yeast in your pet's ears. The first is ketoconazole and the second is miconazole which are both great, fast acting anti-fungals. When treating yeast infections, antibiotics are useless and anti-fungals must be used for treatment.

Ear-mites

If an ear cytology has revealed your pet has ear mites we recommend insecticidal ointments and a general cleaners. Pyrethrins are neurotoxins that attack the nervous systems of all insects. They work great in getting rid of ear mites, and patients usually recover fully within 2 weeks if treated quickly. In most cases if the pet has had ear mites for a long period of time, secondary infections will occur and different ointments will be added to the treatment.

Bacterial Infections

Lactoperoxidase is the primary recommended product in fighting bacterial ear infections. Different cleaners and ointments will be recommended depending on which type of bacteria is found as there are many. The two most commonly found types of bacteria in pet's ears are cocci and bacillus.

Other Infections

On rare occasions there a few other parasites that can cause ear infections. Usually insecticidal ointments are used in treating them. In some rare cases demodex, lice, or bedbugs can be found in pets ears.
